MISSION:
ONCE UPON A THEATRE is dedicated to improving the education of the children in our area. ONCE UPON A THEATRE's educational program brings into schools the joy, excitement and developmental and academic stimulus of quality live theatre and assists teachers in maximizing the experience through effective teaching tools before and after the performances.
SEASON: September through May. Performances
are available during the day every Tuesday and Thursday.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Kindergarten through
Middle School
FEES: $450 per performance with Activity
& Study Guides
An
additional performance immediately following is $300.

- Two Types of Plays:
Fall Production 2007 - "The Dancing Princeses"
From the "Once Upon A Rhyme" children's
series written by Myrna Smyer. This series won a First
Place Award For Quality in Education from the New
Mexico Research and Study Council and the University
of New Mexico in 1989-90 and in 1995 received the
Albuquerque Arts Alliance Bravos Award for Outstanding
Contribution to Arts in Education. Original adaptations
of classic fairy tales, written partially in rhyme,
designed for kindergarten through elementary age children.
Spring Production 2008 -
"Who Dunit? "
A second production is designed for older elementary and middle school age students, this presentation is a fun and suspenseful environmental comedy-mystery.

Productions are about 40 minutes
in length.
- Question and Answer Period following the show.
- Activity/Study Guides, based on the
plays, provide curriculum connections for teachers whose students see
the production.
- Portable Sets - Sets are portable
and may be
performed in any type of setting (all purpose room, mini-gym, gym,
etc.)
A space approximately 35’ by 35’ is required for the
set.
